After years of volunteering at the church, Charles had to switch this project to a Gaines Group design challenge. Putting together a team to solve the indoor air quality problem, the church tackled a major building science obstacle and did a full gut rehab on the mechanical systems. The shortcut 25 years earlier led to some major indoor environmental challenges that required the removal and cleaning of most of the carpet, furniture, interior finishes, and 100% of the heating and cooling systems.
