Caitlin started her path to architecture in 2014 at Massanutten Technical Center, where she studied technical architecture and interior design. She soon graduated from Spotswood High School in 2016 and continued on to James Madison University to study Architectural Design. In 2017, she returned to MTC to obtain a Print Reading and Project Estimation Certification, while also continuing her course-load at JMU. Recently, she received the J. Binford Walford Scholarship from JMU’s Architectural Design program based on her academic performance and semester design projects.
In the summer of 2017, Caitlin studied abroad for 2 months in Southern France, where she learned the language, culture, and architecture of the region. This trip further instilled her passion for design, and hopes to spend more time abroad, both studying and working, to enhance her design ideas.
Since joining the team at The Gaines Group, she has taken an interest in sustainable architecture and “green design,” which has influenced her work at JMU. She is working towards graduate school to become a licensed architect. In her free time, Caitlin loves playing with her rescue kitten, Vel, working on her JMU design projects, and binge-watching crime shows on Netflix.
