68. 3D Printed House #105architecturalinspirations
The 3D printed house the first made the news in China cost $5,000. This affordable and durable way of making structures is going to change our industry. Mainstream low cost printers only create using plastic. This new approach using concrete is the future of the industry. Students at MIT have figured out how to print glass. Soon, affordable printers will be able to create diverse, aesthetically pleasing structures, that provide affordable and dignified options for buildings.
There is no limit to what is possible if you look at this castle created with a 3D printer. As this technology continues to advance (you can today print a measuring cup with your under counter mounted 3D printer) the way we approach construction is changing.
