We have a lot of work to do! It is so easy to make excuses as to why not to do something. It is easy to wait for someone else to take the lead and simply follow when the path is cleared. It is something else to be ready to make a brighter future, without blame, without labels, without baggage. It is time for us to make a difference in our future. Our future for local foods, for renewable technology, for energy conservation practices depends on me and you to come together and talk. We have to start the conversation, we have to take action, we need to start now.
I hope to see you and all your friends at the Shenandoah Sustainability Summit on April 23 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This summit is not a political event, it is not a tree hugger event, it is simply a place for conversation for our community about our future. In fact, this event does not even have a conversation outlined for us to follow, we all have to be leaders and create the agenda once we get there. The only requirement is that you show up and participate.
I encourage you to attend this event, to make a session topic, to start a conversation!
