Harrisonburg Insider

Please add to my list of places and things to do in Harrisonburg.

Harrisonburg Restaurants

Dave’s Downtown Taverna – Greek inspired menu, I suggest the Gyros with the steak fries or a white pizza. Dave’s is a great place to take clients or the family. It is a little loud for an intense discussion.

121 S. Main St.
Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Jack Brown’s Burger and Beer Joint – The perfect burger and beer joint. Get the special burger of the day, but save room for a fried Oreo. It is small so expect a line if you get there at peak times. The outdoor seating is great if the weather is nice.

80 S. Main St.
Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Local Chop and Grill House – Local meats and produce prepared with your choices of sauces, rubs, and delicious sides. Take your wife here and she will be very happy.

56 W. Gay Street
Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Pennybackers Restaurant – the best sandwich shop in Harrisonburg. Get the Pennybacker, cup of soup and tots on the side. The tables all have a game to keep the kids entertained and the service is excellent.

14 East Water St.
Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Clementine Cafe – Friendly and sophisticated menu and aesthetic, the wraps are the best along with their in-house made chips. This is a great place to meet clients or to relax.

Mr. J’s Bagels and Deli – a wide selection of sandwich options, a great place to take the kids for a quick-lunch or dinner. They prefer cash, but do take credit.
